Prophase (1st phase of Mitosis)
Prophase is a phase where the chromosomes start to move to the middle and the spindle fibers attach to each other. The chromosomes are going to the middle so they can seperate evenly when the cells divide. Look at the picture below for a better picture of prophase. (The spindle fibers are the string-like figures coming out of the centrosomes)
